My Shit was Complex.

Probably the best Lauryn Hill verse ever.

Touches me and it buuuuuuurns.

Originally from the song "Manifest" with the Fugees but this version is a remix with "Ex-Factor" and was recorded live in the UK unreleased. It cuts off real blunt because its actually cut from her mixtape: The Best of Lauryn Hill Vol. 1&2 by J. Period. GET THAT SHIT! Best mixtape EVER and you think I'm being bias because I'm such a Lauryn Hill freak but I'm so serious. It comes with two cd's: vol.1 (FIRE) which is all her rap and rhymes and then vol. 2 (WATER) that contains all of the acapellas. A lot of live performances recorded on the cd's and a lot of special guests like Rohan Marley, Nas, The Fugees, Common, Bob Marley and the list goes on. You can purchase it on J. Period's website www.jperiod.com and that's about it. It's actually really exclusive and I think every woman should have these two cd's on her shelf because it's truly inspirational and includes a lot of Lauryn's outlook on life and love in general. She's extremely intelligent. Although a little crazy but I still love her.

COUNT DOWN TIL FRIDAY!
I'm watching her perform at the Pala Casino so you know I'm already losing sleep over it.
Soon to be reported so stay posted.

It reached South-East Asia!

Ok so let me tell you the story. I,Dianne was not born but raised in Bangkok and other remote parts of Thailand for 8-9 years. I've been back in the states for years now and haven't visited in about 4 years and I've always wondered about how the "street culture" QOUTE ON QOUTE is like in Thailand. What I'm trying to say is... I wonder if any of those kids in Thailand gives a shit about sneakers, t-shirts, hoodies, new eras, and vintage 80's sunglasses like they do here in LA. We all know Japan is like the headquarter of all things but I've never seen a sneaker shop or streetwear boutiques in Thailand. I was informed that they held the 25th Anniversary AF1 party there but nothing too crazy. They barely even posted any pictures.

Until todaaaaaaaaay... I read an article on Slam about Sneakerpimps Bangkok.
Dave White did a live installation on some Thai-kickboxing shit. (Muay Thai)

And then here comes these guys... goldchain, bandana, painter hat, t-shirt, cazal-wearing fools. Epitamy of a hypebeast.

My question has been answered. I guess the next victims will Africa and then it'll hit the Middle East. At least those guys are gonna be able to claim their scarves back. They wear it best anyway so please leave it alone. That shit was very 2005. Oh yeah, and I bet you these guys' parents are rich as hell because 40 dollar Alife t-shirts comes out to be about 1,500 Baht Thai. No joke. Imagine a pair of $125 AF1's? 89123798137 I can't even do the math. (somewhere around 5,000)

And by the way... Does this chick even know who the hell Dave White is? Go on girl, floss that shirt to the boys.

From LA with Love

So this last saturday June 16th, Art Don't Sleep presented From LA with Love Album Release Party at the A+D Museum off Wilshire blvd.

I arrived at the museum a little late and thank God for Oak I had a place to park and got in. The place had 3 different areas for music and the art exhibition was located on the second floor. Sorry for the lack of pictures but I didn't wanna look like a tourist.

My favorite piece was probably Retna's. I walked around quite a couple of times expecting to see a beautiful painting with elaborate brush strokes and didn't seem to find one until I was told that THIS was his piece...

Music and good vibes provided by Azul 213, Blank Blu, Kutmah, Computer Jay etc. and the Gaslampkiller himself.

Willow's FUCT tee was quite a hit that night.

My picture-taking stopped there because the vodka kicked in and we decided to pose at the photobooth by Mochilla instead. Still waiting on the picture by the way. Great night overall. Good vibes, good people, good music, and good art. Nobody's angry and nobody's trying to floss like most places.

Okay well its been quite a long weekend. Holla manana.

She be rockin' Chuck Taylors and a thriftstore purse.

There's a reason why we love Erykah Badu---The girl's got sass. If you hadn't already know that then you better ask Tyrone!

Well thanks to Oak for sending me links for the Def Jam Poetry video for Lauryn Hill originally (which was too intense) then I came across this one that I think is quite clever. Check it.

WORLDWIDE.

So everybody knows Hilary Duff isn't the greatest singer and neither is she as a dancer. But that's when my dearie bestfriend Anjolie and her partner Julianne comes in. Not everyone's got a bestfriend that's on worldtour with Hilary and shit you know. From what I hear from Anj, Hilary is sincerely nice inside out. No sweatin' nobody and I gotta respect that. Rather work with her than my all-time-favorite Lauryn Hill that I heard is quite craaazy.

Well anyways, check out the video. It's called "Stranger" and was filmed at our very familiar spot NACIONAL off Wilcox an Hollywood.
